If you are choosing an oil boiler then it’s usually because you are off the main gas grid, but you could also potentially choose an electric boiler or LPG gas boiler, so why pick an oil system? Oil boilers are fantastic, here are a few reasons why you might get one:

Typically highly efficient fuel with a good return on every unit of energy

Modern oil boilers are generally condensing and are 90% or more efficient

Floor standing options meaning they don’t need to be wall mounted

Oil boilers can be external, so they don’t take up space in your house

Oil boiler installation costs

Oil boilers are quite expensive as a base model, but the installation price varies completely as there are several different factors that go into determining this cost. A lot of the costs of installing an oil boiler is determined by your current situation amongst other factors so to get an accurate price you’ll need a surveyor to visit your home.

Here is a breakdown of some factors that need to be considered when determining the cost of your boiler installation:

• If it’s a like for like boiler swap, such as a combi/combi boiler swap, typically the price is cheaper as it’s easier to install.

• If there is building work involved in the installation, then it usually costs more

• Installations can also include buying extra parts such as new pipes which could add to the cost.

• Moving the boiler to another room or externally / internally will also usually increase the price.

• If you require an oil boiler then it’s usually because you live in a rural area, which can raise the price of installation as there may not be a local installer or they could be in high demand, but this is dependent on a host of different circumstances.
